XC Season - 2015

2015 XC Season was awesome for the 11 athletes who signed up. We spent our  Tuesdays training on the hills of Cedar Creek  Park. On Thursdays we  worked on our speed and running form at Mepham High School. Saturday mornings we ran the uphill trail at Norman Levy Preserve and Park. All in preparation for the USATF-Long Island XC Championships which were held on November 7th at Wantagh State Park. Eight of our athletes competed at the Championships and three of them - John, Isayah &   Mikhaila - made the decision to go on to Rhode Island and represent Bellmore PAL &  Long Island at the Regional meet on November 22nd.  Before the Championship meet  our athletes competed at 2 other XC meets that were also held at Wantagh Park and did very well. Our last Saturday practice was November 14th, below is a picture of  John & Mikhaila at the top of Norman Levy. Two more practices and then they are off to Rhode Island!

Great job guys and Good Luck! We are always proud of you!

Spring meet relay

2015relayteam11 year old boy's team

Why boy's team when there are 3 girls?? Rule is if there is a boy on the team it becomes a boy's team, and the age goes by the oldest athlete on the team.

David lead leg, Kylialah 2nd leg, Alanna 3rd leg and AmandaRae anchor leg.

From start to finish they were awesome and won the gold over 4 other teams.

Congratulations! Way to go guys
