2018 USATF Outdoor Championships and JO Qualifiers

The USATF Outdoor Track & Field Championships were held on Father’s Day at Great Neck Middle School.

Many of our athletes had personal bests on this beautiful day in June.

14 of our athletes qualified for the Regional meet being held at Icahn Stadium on Randalls Island in New York City.  Our athletes make us proud every time they step on the track!

Stephanie –  4×100 relay, 200 & Long Jump ; Avery – 4×100 relay,100 & 200 ; Harper – 4×100 relay, 100 ; Jaylah – 100, 200 ;  Joylin – 100 ;  Izabella – 100 ; Analia – 4×100 relay ; Nick – 400m ; Leanna – 400, 800 ; Steven – 100, 200 ; John – 800, 1500 ;   Camylin – 200, 400 & 200 Hurdles

With her performance in the 400 meters, Camylin now holds the USATF Long Island record in her age group with a time of 60.38.   She just missed the record for the 200 hurdles!                                                   Awesome job Camylin! Regionals here she comes!

The meet is being held Thursday, July 12 – Sunday, July 15

The anchor leg for the girls 9/10 year old 4×100 relay on her way to helping her team break their 2017 record with a time of 1:09.03 making them the USATF Long Island record holder in their age group! Way to go girls!!

Say hello to our coaches

These are some of our coaches. There are 11 coaches involved in the Spring program.

Coach Eddie, Coach Roger, Coach Bill are coaches for the 8 & 9 years. Coach Rob who also coaches this group is not in the picture.

Coach Ava is one of the coaches for the 5 /6 & 7 year olds. Coach Veronica and Coach Malcolm, also with the little ones, are not in the picture.

These are our some of our dedicated coaches who give of their time, their experience and their skills with patience, diligence and caring.

We had an awesome season ending with a parade at the Championship meet on Saturday May 26th. These are some of the kids walking with the team banner at the parade.

2018 Spring news

It’s time again for our Mile Grand Prix – Athletes have a choice of 4 mile races during the spring/summer season. Marathon weekend mile, Bellmore Striders July 4th mile, Massapequa Mile & Farmingdale Mile.  Run any 3 of these, be a USATF member and you qualify for the Grand Prix

While the milers were busy at Eisenhower Park our 9 year olds were at Mitchel Field having  fun at PAL’s Saturday morning track meet.  They just completed the 4 x 100 relay and are proudly displaying their 2nd place ribbons. Way to go girls!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2018 USATF Indoor Championships

Association Youth Championships held at Suffolk Community College in January was a fun time for our team.

 

 

Our 9/10 girls  did awesome with their races – great times for each one!

Intramural Soccer Registration

Online intramural soccer registration will open on 2/1/18. Online registration is available for existing Pal players. Pre k & clinic must register in person. If you need a uniform you must get it at an in person registration. In person registration dates are  2/8 & 2/13 from 7:00-8:30 pm at the Bellmore Pal office located at Nassau Boces on Jerusalem Ave.

End of 2017 XC Season

The XC Season has come to a close for our athletes.

To wrap up the season, 7 of our athletes ran today in the Rob’s Run 5K in Stillwell Woods Park in Syosset. Beautiful weather for running and a tough course, but our athletes were awesome and did a great job!

2017 Cross Country

Bellmore’s  2017 XC team had their first meet on Saturday 21st at Gardiner’s County Park in Bay Shore.

It was a Youth 2K race for all ages.  There were hay bales as part of the course which made it even more exciting.

Our new athletes got an idea of why they have to work hard at practice.  They all did an awesome job.

The USATF Long Island Association XC Championships is up next. It will be at the same Park on Sunday, November 5th. Top 25 athletes in each age group and gender qualify for the Regional Championships being held in Rhode Island on November 19th!
